Assalamualaikum, I hope you are all doing well InshaAllah.

Last night I was watching one of Israr Ahmed's lectures on the topic of taqdeer or qadar, and I came across a very thought-provoking hadith.

"A strong believer is better and is more lovable to Allah than a weak believer, and there is good in everyone, (but) cherish that which gives you benefit (in the Hereafter) and seek help from Allah and do not lose heart, and if anything (in the form of trouble) comes to you, don't say: If I had not done that, it would not have happened so and so, but say: Allah did that what He had ordained to do and your" if" opens the (gate) for the Satan."

It is our natural reaction to respond to a tragedy or a failure by saying that If I had done this or If I had done that, then this tragedy wouldn't have happened. This hadith teaches us how to correctly respond when we are in trouble. We should believe that whatever has happened to us is because Allah willed it and he knows best. Now this does not imply that we should just rely on qadar and do nothing. We should strive and work hard towards our goals and then pray to Allah for the best.

“If Allah should touch you with adversity, none can remove it except Him; and if He intends good for you, none can repel His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants.”

Quran, 10:107

Both the hadith and the verse comforted me a lot. They have taught me not to lose hope and always believe in Allah. If I ever face any loss or failure I should not sulk and give up, instead I should say that Allah ordered for it to happen, and then move on and work harder. If Allah has decided something good for me then no one else can prevent it, I will get it no matter what.

If you are going through a rough time, just pray to Allah and know that no calamity will ever befall you unless Allah wills for it. And If Allah wills to bless you with prosperity then no one can intervene or prevent it.
