As the title says, a belated Ramadan Mubarak to everyone.

I am in no position to preach or guide anyone as I am also a sinful person but it is the duty of every Muslim to guide people towards Islam and that's what I am doing.

Our Mistakes:

I sincerely hope you all are engaging in praying and recitation of the Quran. It is the month of redemption and repentance. Unfortunately, most of us only give up drinking and eating while continuing with our usual deeds and acts. We abuse, slander and whatnot as soon as our fast ends. We keep watching our favorite shows and movies. Still we have this proud belief that our fasting will be accepted and our sins will be forgiven. There is a Sahih Hadith stating that if we don't give up our false actions and words even in Ramadan then Allah does not require us to give up our eating and drinking (Sahih al-Bukhari 6057).

Most of us fail even completing a single Quran in Ramadan. We give various excuses like shortage of time and busy schedule, but we always find the time to play ludo with our friends and scrolling through reels all day. It is no one's loss but solely ours. We only have to read 1 para everyday but still somehow we are not even able to that. It will only take a couple of hours from the 24 hours of our day. If we cannot even dedicate 2 hours to the Quran then we are truly helpless. We also blame our slow reading speed and eventually give up on completing the Quran. There is a Sahih Hadith that someone who finds it hard to read the Quran, they will receive double the reward (Sahih Muslim 798b). So please start reading it and ask for forgiveness from Allah.

It is a common routine for many to wake up late in Ramadan. Some even wake up after Asr and then they pray Zuhur and Asr together. Namaz is one of the fards in Islam and missing it deliberately is a major sin even in the normal days. When we have to go to an interview or have a meeting, we set many alarms to ensure that we wake up on time but sadly for prayers we lack the same dedication and zest. We casually miss prayers and then make it up later thinking that we will be rewarded equally. We always pray in a hurried manner and don't even sit for dua afterwards as if we have more than enough deeds to enter paradise. There's a Sahih Hadith that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) asked a man to repeat his prayer three times because he was lacking calmness in his prayer (Sahih al-Bukhari 793). Praying namaz delicately and intensively five times a day is our pathway to getting our sins forgiven (Sahih al-Bukhari 528).

In the last 10 nights of Ramadan, we religiously stay up, but not to engage in worship, but to play cricket, ludo, and waste our time in other unproductive activities. Our task is to find the night of Qadr which is better than a thousand months (Sunan an-Nasa'i 2106). Allah has blessed us with this great opportunity to earn countless blessings and get rid of all our past sins, but we are so busy with the distractions, created by shaitaan, that we don't pay heed to it. We should be actively praying and worshipping in the last ten odd nights of Ramadan in order to find that blessed night (Sahih al-Bukhari 2017).

What Am I Doing?

In order to increase my worship and prayers, I deleted all the major distractions from my phone: Instagram, Snapchat, Reddit and Telegram. I did not delete Youtube as I watch Islamic lectures and videos on it and I did not delete Facebook because I work through it. I read one para after every namaz so that I can complete 5 Qurans in this month. I am not stating this to boast about myself but I am writing this in the hope that someone will get inspired and start reading as well.

I am a very flawed person and in this Ramadan I aim to rectify my errors and work on my shortcomings InshaAllah. I hope you also do the same InshaAllah.

I pray to Allah that whoever reads this, may Allah guide them to the right path and accept all their rightful prayers.
