Happy Valentine's Day

I originally wrote this poem on 04 February, 2023. It's been two years but it's still relevant sadly.

Well it's around the corner again

I have started to sense a familiar pain

Couples will explicitly express their affection

In result, I will be reminded of her defection

I no longer crave for anyone's love

I have buried that yearning with a shove

But this day rekindles the flame

Putting my masquerade to a shame

Still I won't make any desperate attempt

Because I know I will end up with self-contempt

I have to accept the reality that no one is mine

This year too no one will be my Valentine
