Someone Else

This poem is about two people desiring the same things but for different people. He wants to be loved by her, while she wants to be loved by someone else. I think this poem describes one sided love or infatuation.

I run to her, but she's already off to someone else
I fall for her, but she's already fallen for someone else
I desire her attention, but she's already diverted it to someone else
I decorate my dreams with her, but she's already dreaming of someone else
I talk to her, but she's already conversing with someone else
I think of her, but she's already blurred her thinking by someone else
I search her eyes, but she's already fixated them on someone else
I smile to her, but she's already grinning to someone else
I pray for her, but she's already yearning for someone else
We both are singing solemn melodies of one sided love
We both are darkening our nights for countless days
We both are drowning in the same abyss;
You, for him
I, for you
